Priya Suresh

My classes are Intentional, Empowering, and Invigorating.

My training and certifications: RYT 200

My Yoga Story: I have spent more than 25 years of my life learning, teaching, and performing South Indian Classical Dance. Halfway into this journey, I started practicing (and later teaching) yoga. I was drawn to the overlap and intersection of both spaces. After completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2022 and supplemental restorative yoga training hours in 2023 with our YLB family, I began to deepen this connection in my classes. I let my mind surrender to the larger sense of self. I let my body emote to the music. This is a feeling I hold from my practice of dance, where such a surrender is an expression of oneness with the art form. I relish the journey inward.

My Mixtape: Beyonce, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Noah Kahan, MIA, Adele, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, anything unplugged, Piano, Flute, Classical (strings or non), and MANY MANY MANY Indian/South Asian artistes, soundtracks, film songs, Hindustani, Carnatic, and instrumental tracks (namely Zakir Hussain (been on a major kick esp since he recently passed), Shreya Ghoshal, Swetha Mohan, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Haricharan, AR Rahman, Illaiyaraja, Imman, Pritam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Arijith Singh, Chitra, Pradeep Kumar, Kaushiki Chakrabarthy, Harish Sivaramakrishnan, and SOOOO many more). SO MUCH! I listen to a TON of music and a HUGE variety of it. You'll never know what genre will come next on the leisure (and sometimes class) playlist :)

For fun, I'm a design leader, dancer, yogi, and a life enjoyer by day :) But also, I love to nerd out on food, brand, fashion, bullet journaling, productivity methodology, second brain creation (IYKYK), stationery, shopping (milking the retail industry any which way), reading (also many genres), watching The PITT, watching rom-coms, adoring nature, adoring my husband, travel with my husband, family, and friends, parks/hikes, chai, cooking, and organizing ANYTHING. I love letting the little things inspire me. I've had dreams about the Container Store, but also chocolate chips :)
