The intense focus and concentration of yoga brings calmness to the mind, effecting mental health positively.  Additionally, yoga will introduce you to meditation techniques, such as watching your breath and disengaging from your thoughts.  

As with other forms of physical exercise, practicing yoga is a great way to reduce stress.   Each session provides a much-needed break from the stressors of daily life as well as help put things into perspective.
